Hey Family,
Sounds like you guys had a fun little vacation. Minus the buffet monitor. Ha ha. Duh. I love how much fun our family has doing simple things together. Our family is so great. I haven´t gotten my packages yet but like 2 days ago I did get my conference cd. Yay!!! I am so excited. We have had that thing playing non-stop. Every second we can, we turn it on. Thank you so much for sending it. I am not worried at all that the package will come soon, I am thinking it will come either today or tomorrow. I am excited!!! You guys are so awesome!!!!
As far as where I´ll be for Christmas, I´m not sure. Christmas is next transfer, so we are thinking one of us will stay and probably one of us will go. We really hope we can be together for Christmas but I´m not sure what will happen, but yes, we do have a tree. Fun huh!
So my first week as senior companion has been great. Hermana Clegg is awesome. It´s actually more like neither of us is senior because we work together so well. We are such good friends, it´s great. It´s also really nice because the members know us both and actually are starting to ask to work with us which is a huge thing for this ward. It took a lot of months to get to this point. I feel a little bad that Hermana Clegg and I are reaping the fruits of the labor of Hermana Maynes. But not too bad. Ha ha. She´ll be reaping someone else's labour in the Islands. She is an amazing leader. I love her for the things she taught me.
I definitely feel a little inadequate at times because Hermana Clegg actually speaks better Spanish than I do. I think that is part of the reason President kept us together. But I feel bad when I have to ask her what our investigators are saying. I have noticed an improvement though. I can always tell how strong the spirit is by how well I can speak during a lesson. So that´s kind of cool. The gift of tongues is definitely real, I just wish it lasted a little longer. ha ha.
But seriously, I am so excited about this transfer. So is Hermana Clegg. We have named it the harvest transfer. We now have 7 people who have told us they want to get baptized...now we´ve just got to get them to the font. They all have big challenges to overcome, but we will get them there. Maria Jose is still where she has always been. Her husband lost his job and her best friend just died, so maybe the lord is trying to help them out, I´m not sure. Her husband Rafa is actually making a lot of progress now though. We asked Cecilia and Ernesto to be baptized and they said yes. This was on Saturday....Sunday they weren´t at church dang it. I don't know why they just don´t want to come. So we have to figure something out there. Marta and Silvia are still excited about the church. Still want to get baptized with their families and we have Wilson and Rebeca. Wilson is from Peru and Rebeca is from Spain. They are engaged and want to get baptized as soon as possible. I guess Wilson has been investigating the church for a really long time. One day they were going through some hard times and Rebeca picked up his Book of Mormon and started reading it. She didn´t believe in God, but now she does. She said things are more clear now and she wants to get baptized. The elders were teaching her, then they both got transferred, and Wilson asked us to start teaching them, since they don´t live in either our area or the area of the new Hermanas and because they are looking for a place to live in our area, we get to be the lucky ones to teach them what they need to know to get baptized. They are more golden than anyone I´ve ever met. I think they actually wanted to be baptized before the Elders even started teaching them. They literally want to get baptized as soon as possible. So November 1st it looks like we´ll have a baptism. Cool huh.
Well, I better run. I love you soooo much. Thanks for keeping me updated on everything that´s going on at home. How is that family doing? What is there story? You guys are the best. I hope you have a great week. I will be sending a few pictures home today. I haven´t sent the memory card home because I want a back-up first in case it gets lost. That would be so sad. The whole first 7 months of my mission. So I´m working on that. I love you guys so much!!! Have a great week!!!!!
Love,
Morgan
